The Barn, which is typical of Oxfordshire barns of the 17th century onwards, with its curved roof trusses, sits above the main courtyard of the house. Its wooden cladding has been entirely renovated in the traditional style with wide green oak boards loosely nailed to allow for movement. The entrance doors to the South are studded and open into a beautiful space with stone floor and massive fireplace, which is a freestanding structure built in front of the North doors.
The Barn is equipped with a kitchen and two WCs with a gallery above fronted by a baluster reminiscent of the one in the Chapel. It is used for entertaining, seminars (it has a projector and retractable screen), concerts (it seats around 100 people), fund raising events, all for selected charities and organisations, and as a base for the private tours given by Sarah Taylor of the Chapel and grounds.
